An Astonishing Vision

Listen to the words of Pope John Paul II regarding the power of the internet on the occasion of the 36th celebration of World Communications Day:

I dare to summon the whole Church bravely to cross this new threshold, to put out into the deep of the Net, so that now as in the past the great engagement of the Gospel and culture may show to the world "the glory of God on the face of Christ” (2 Cor 4:6). May the Lord bless all those who work for this aim.”

What a stirring challenge for us all!  We are called to use the technology and reach of the Internet to spread the Good News of Christ in our day and age. This is a call that is unique to our age; Christ has not extended this challenge to anyone else but us. This challenge is ours alone to accept or ignore.

The same call to evangelization on the Internet holds true for stewardship; like evangelization, stewardship is a call to continuing conversion. Never before have we had the means to reach so many people in so timely and economically a manner.  Parish Growth Partners has accepted the challenge of John Paul II and we invite you to learn how the Internet is central to your stewardship success. And if you want to make the next generation an integral part of your parish now and in the future, how can you not use the Internet?

In its document on the Internet, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications called the potential of the Internet for the Church “an astonishing vision.” What is the astonishing vision you have for your parish, and how can you use the Internet to journey there? We share your vision. We can journey with you.
